Terms of Service

Last updated: 20 July 2026

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your use of the Klaviero application and website (the "Service"), operated by La Lumière Consulting SRL, Avenue Louise 323, 1050 Ixelles, Belgium, enterprise number 0762.735.942, VAT number BE 0762.735.942 ("we", "us" or "our"). By creating an account or purchasing a plan, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

The Service is a browser-based application for practising the piano. We offer a free tier and paid plans. We may modify or improve the features of the Service from time to time.

2. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activity carried out under your account. You must be at least 16 years old to hold an account. A user under 16 may use the Service only under the supervision of a parent or guardian who accepts these Terms. Each account is for a single person.

3. Acceptable use and imported files

You may import your own MIDI files for personal practice, and you confirm that you hold the necessary rights to any file you import. You may share files privately with your own connections within the Service. You may not use the Service to distribute copyrighted material to the public. The Service does not provide a public file exchange.

4. Plans, pricing and billing

Prices are displayed at checkout, in euro and inclusive of VAT. Payment is processed by Stripe, including where applicable the Stripe Link wallet. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You may cancel at any time through Manage Billing; cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period for which you have paid. A receipt and an invoice are sent by email for each payment. We may change prices with reasonable prior notice; a change does not affect a period for which you have already paid.

5. Founder plan

The Founder plan is a one-time purchase that grants access to premium features for the operational lifetime of the Service, with a minimum of three years of updates and security fixes. It does not require us to operate the Service for any fixed period beyond that minimum. The number of Founder plans is limited, and the number remaining is shown at checkout.

6. Right of withdrawal and refunds

As a consumer resident in the European Union, you have a right of withdrawal of 14 days. Our Refund Policy explains how to exercise it and how to cancel a subscription.

7. Availability

We aim to keep the Service available, but we provide it on an "as is" and "as available" basis and do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Belgian or European Union consumer law.

9. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Belgian law. The mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence continue to apply. Any dispute may be brought before the competent courts of Brussels, Belgium, or resolved through the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
