What the notes land on. The piano is the default and the only one tuned for practice; the others reduce a piano part to what that instrument can actually play, and say how much they had to move or drop. Your keyboard still sends piano MIDI whatever is on screen.
STRUCK KEYS
How a key lights when it is played. The edge light puts the source at the top of the key and lets it fall down the body; the fill colours the whole key, which is clearest about which hand played.
THE PAGE
How the score moves. Scrolling keeps the playhead still and slides the music under it. Static page holds the paper still and walks a cursor across it, then turns the page at the end of the line · which is how you actually read at a piano.
A soft ring on the notehead that is sounding now. Quieter than the other themes on purpose: notation is read, not watched, and anything that competes with the notehead makes it harder to read.
THE WORLD
Per theme, so tuning one never disturbs another. Void is the sky and the empty space notes fall through. Objects is the buildings, the nature and the lights in front of it.

The glow layer is what the other two are drawn on. Turn it off and the piano goes back to flat tiles, which is the fastest the renderer ever runs.
THE ROOM
SPACE
Which room the piano is standing in. CLOSE is a small treated room with the mics right over the strings, CONCERT HALL is the far end of a big one. Each has its own early reflections, which is what tells your ear how big a space is, more than how long it rings for.

How long the room keeps ringing after a note stops. A recital hall is around 2000 to 2400 ms, a small studio nearer 600. Turn it off and the piano goes completely dry. The right pedal opens the room up, on your keyboard and in the pieces that were recorded with one.

How far back you are sitting. Close to the piano you hear the strings and the first reflections off the lid; further back the room itself takes over.

How far the keyboard spreads between your ears. Bass to the left, treble to the right, the way it sits under your own hands. At 0 the whole piano collapses to a single point in the middle.
THE MIX
LOUDNESS
NATURAL is the piano as it plays, with nothing across it. RECORD adds what a mastering engineer would: gentle bus compression that leaves the attack alone, a trim under the rumble, and a limiter so nothing clips. Louder and denser, the way a released recording is.

A lift right at the top, around 8 kHz. It is where the hammer felt and the room's own sparkle live. A little opens the sound up; too much and it hisses.
LIBRARY
Waits about half a second before it starts, so scrolling the list stays quiet. Only ever one preview at a time, and it fades in and out. The play button on each row auditions whether this is on or off.

AUTO fits the board to your screen so the keys stay easy to hit on phones and tablets. Prefer the whole piano? Force any size · even 88 · and the keys just get narrower. Wide songs shift octaves to fit; anything still out of reach is played for you.

Home row A S D F G H J K L ; plays the white notes, the row above plays the sharps. The board shows exactly those keys and nothing else, so use OCTAVE (or Z / X) to move the whole thing up or down and reach the rest of the piano. Plug in a real MIDI keyboard and it takes over.

Practice and Rhythm know every note they are waiting for, so the mic only has to confirm those pitches. It can't do that in Free play, Listen or the audio importer, and it isn't offered there. While the mic listens, Klaviero plays nothing through the speakers: your piano is already the sound, and anything the app played would come back in through the mic as a false note. The metronome keeps time visually.
KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS
Off by default. Your computer keys play notes, so a stray letter firing an app action mid-piece is not what you want. The number row is always live and never affected · 1 songs, 2 instruments, 3 theme, 4 mode, 5 stats · because no digit is a piano key.

How much dynamic range your keyboard gets. Turn it up and a soft note goes further down, so ppp reaches ppp; turn it down and everything sits closer to mezzo-forte. In the middle you get the piece exactly as it was written.

Sympathetic ring under the pedal. With the dampers up, every string you are not playing rings along with the ones you are. It is most of what makes a big piano sound big.

Semiramide riconosciuta · No. 41 is a piece by N. Porpora, written in 1729. The piece sits in the Baroque repertoire. The Klaviero chart holds 485 notes across 3:26. Mutopia's edition is scored for dramatis personae (voice: 2 soprano castratos, soprano, alto castrato, contralto, tenor) and orchestra (2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 trumpets, 2 horns, strings, basso continuo).
