Andante grazioso is the first movement of Mozart's Piano Sonata No. 11 in A major, K. 331, published by Artaria in 1784 with the sonatas K. 330 and K. 332. Instead of opening with an allegro in sonata form, as convention expected, Mozart begins with a theme and variations. The theme is a siciliana, the lilting dance type usually heard in a minor key, set here in a cheerful A major. It has an 8-bar section and a 10-bar section, each repeated, and every variation keeps that shape. All three movements of the sonata are in A major or A minor, and the third is the Rondo alla Turca. In 2014 four pages of Mozart's autograph of the first two movements were found in the National Széchényi Library in Budapest; they show a different rhythm for the last three notes of bars 5 and 6 in the fifth variation. The chart holds 6,207 notes over 13:51. It averages 7.5 notes per second, and the busiest 25 seconds come near the end, 13:16 to 13:41, at 13.8. The range runs from A1 to F6, and 20 notes fall outside a 61-key keyboard.

The theme and variations that open Mozart's Sonata K. 331, built on a siciliana.

It runs at about 7.5 notes per second and peaks at 13.8. The right hand plays 55% of the 6,207 notes and the left 45%. At 14 minutes it asks for concentration as much as technique. The notes run A1 to F6, 4.7 octaves, which is past what a 61-key board reaches at one end or the other. Klaviero rates it tier 4 of 5.
